The Department of Biomedical & Pharmaceutical Sciences at Chapman University School of Pharmacy (CUSP) seeks highly motivated applicants for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the area of pharmacology/pharmacokinetics/drug disposition/drug metabolism.

Located on the Chapman University Rinker Health Science Campus in Irvine, California, CUSP offers a professional PharmD program and MS and PhD programs in Pharmaceutical Sciences. The Biomedical & Pharmaceutical Sciences department currently employs 21 full-time faculty with research interests in drug discovery and development, pharmacology, structural biology, immunology, drug delivery, pharmacokinetics/ pharmacodynamics, and social and administrative sciences. Chapman University has made significant infrastructure investments to enhance biomedical and pharmaceutical research programs at the CUSP. Candidates with a Ph.D. degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences or a related areas with interest in the areas of pharmacology/pharmacokinetics/drug disposition/ drug metabolism will be considered. Additionally, the position requires prior experience with surgical procedures in rodents and analytical methods, such as LC/MS/MS, demonstrated by strong peer-reviewed publications. Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of an interdisciplinary team are essential.
The research includes the use of small animal models to study the effects of liver diseases on the transporter- and/or cytochrome P450-mediated hepatobiliary and brain disposition of drugs. The specific responsibilities include:
• Plan and conduct original research and analyze data either alone or in collaboration with supervisor and associates.
• Support other laboratory and department personnel in the area of research
• Supervise undergraduate and graduate students in their research
• Order, receive, and maintain records of research supplies in a timely manner
• Maintain laboratory equipment
• Maintain research and laboratory protocols and notes
• Communicate research findings
• Perform other duties as assigned
